The Community College: Jumping into the Administrative Side
Abstract :
During the months of June and July, I have completed 120+ hours interning under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Composition, Jay Steere, at Northern Virginia Community College which fulfilled the Teaching English at the Community College (TECC) graduate certificate program. While interning at NOVA, I was not only able to learn about what happens inside of the composition classroom, but I was able to receive a better understanding of the importance of the administrative work that professors and adjuncts must complete in order to drive classroom successes through the completion of staff interviews and projects. The projects that I conducted were centered around areas that peaked my interest and would server beneficial to my future in the composition classroom.
